In many of my consultations with clients I will tell them it doesn’t matter what a few people will say it is important to resonate with your target audience. In many cases going over the top is a great way to draw attention to your self and be remembered.
Geico took a big risk a few years ago when they introduced the gecko as a spokesperson. Prior to that it was the caveman campaign. Now they have a few commercials where they stress that everyone knows 15 minutes can save you on car insurance. Ask most people about their latest campaign and they will tell you everyone knows that but did you know not all owls are wise. Now you may not have a Geico type budget but you can be just as creative in your advertising. Think what can I do to stand out maybe you wear the same color shirt coordinated with a matching jacket when you network so people associate your dress with your business.
Colonel Sanders wore this outfit for years and it made an impression as people associated him with his brand. As many people between 40 – 65 and they will be able to tell you KFC’s Slogan, it’s Finger Licking Good. With a Twerk This philosophy you become cutting edge to stand out in your industry. Most notable companies that people recognize have a recognizable mascot, a distinguished logo, and a memorable tag line. If you don’t have theses incorporated into your marketing and advertising now is the time to develop them and promote them.
Put this in front of people and 90% will tell you that is Nike. Nike definitely has a Twerk This philosophy as they have come under much scrutiny over the years for the way they do business, however they still control the marketplace when it comes to athletic footwear and apparel. Again you may not have a Nike type budget, however it is important to invest daily in some for of marketing and advertising. Ask yourself what have I done today to put myself out there.

I used to worry about what people thought of me until one day I decided to say Twerk This. I decided I would become a great self promoter and draw attention to myself wherever I went so as to spark interest in who I was and what I was doing. The day I stopped listening to the naysayers and starting doing and implementing my own advertising ideas was the day I began to have success. Now when people see me that know me say tat is JDOGG a community leader, an excellent voice guy, and an outstanding marketing and public relations person. I have come to the understanding that I will not resonate with everyone, however those I do resonate with will use my services. I have stopped trying to be a people pleaser and starting to do things the way that will fit best into my philosophy of being of service and value.
I have started to do the things that make me stand out and believe me it works as people are remembering who I am and what I do more and more. Be yourself and implement a Twerk This philosophy. Stay Positive and do it your way!!!!
