Advertisement Ideas: Important P Words!!!
When you decide to open your business the most important p word that you need to have in you vocabulary is profit. When you open your business you must have a goal in mind as to how much profit you want to make so that you can take action to exceed this goal with the idea of utilizing other important p words.
People is a very important p word for you will need to reach the people in your desired target audience and have them do business with you. Remember people do business with those they know, like, and trust. In giving people what they desire and building awareness of your products and services you will increase your profits. You may have need to hire people and hiring the right people who are in alignment with your core values will lead you to having success when it comes to customer acquisition and retention.
Promotion is a very important p word as without it your chances to attract buyers and turn a profit is significantly diminished. I recently worked for someone who did not invest in promoting their business, had no internet presence, did not do any social media marketing, and relied on foot traffic to the plaza they were located in. Guess what happened this business closed its doors. It then relocated elsewhere and did the same thing and closed it doors again. After moving and closing its doors the business no has a plethora of merchandise in a warehouse sitting dormant not creating any cash flow and definitely not turning a profit.
In today’s market you must be actively promoting and giving people a reason to do business with you. If you are not doing this you are risking an outcome where you close your business and are left wondering why. I often use a 3 foot rule when I am out in the community where I will talk to people who are with in 3 feet of me. I will size up the situation listen to what is being discussed and see if I can weave my way into a position to share who I am and what I do. I did this today as I overheard what I thought was a business coach talking to another business coach as they were discussing knowing core values so i walked over and gave them my business and talked about them being a guest on my radio show, Get Motivated With JDOGG, which airs on www.blogtalkradio.com/jdoggsshow on Monday at 5:30 PM. I also went out today to promote Relay For Life and walked a shopping plaza leaving literature and asking for donations. As a result I secured a few small donations. The key is to be in promotion mode at all times as you never know who you might meet and where it might lead. On many occasions I have been out doing a quick video and someone has come up to me to discuss what I was doing. Such was the case when I met Audrey Parente of Bold Venture Publishing. She represents an author that wrote a book The Taxol Thief. I booked him on my radio show and in addition Audrey’s company is donating a portion of her royalties to Relay For Life. I was doing a pop-warner football game and The Assistant Athletic Director of Cardinal Gibbons High School Heard me and a few weeks later offered me the position to be The PA Announcer for Football. I share this with you to emphasize how important promotion is to your business.
