Advertisement Ideas: Chutzpah Pays Off!!!
I was out collecting donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton and I went into a nail salon to seek donations and a patron said you have a lot of chutzpah. Chutzpah is defined as personal confidence or courage that allows someone to do or say things that may seem shocking to others. I said yes I do. She pulled out a $5 bill and put it in the canister. As I left I started to think who are the most successful people in their respective industries? The answer was easy those who had a bit of Chutzpah. I looked at those who were brash and took risks and saw a pattern while others were making excuses they were taking action. I have learned that having Chutzpah can lead to success and will payoff. A few years ago I heard about The Lingerie Football League coming to my city so I sent an email introducing myself and offering my services as a public address announcer. The league wrote back asking me to call them. I called and did an audition on the phone and I was hired. I have done this on several occasions and each time I have secured paid gigs or secured donations.
In my past entry I spoke about using the phone as a tool to enhance your advertising. I was calling for donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life a few Fridays ago and one person said you know it takes a lot of Chutzpah to call and ask for donations. I said yes it does can I send you my link for donations and you can consider donating. The answer was yes. I emailed my link, http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 and the person went to the site and made a $10. Sometimes it is just a matter of doing something others have not thought about. We have become so dependent on social media that we have lost the idea of using the phone and having the Chutzpah to ask for the sale or donation.
I attend many networking events and I use a different approach than most when I meet someone I don’t ask them what they do I ask how can I be of service and value to you. I answer my phone with hello this is Jonathan JDOGG Lederman, how can I be of service and value to you. Many have said that takes Chutzpah. I say yes it does because being a bit different makes me stand out and puts me on the top of their mind when they need the services I offer. The idea is to use your Chutzpah so that it is not seen as a negative but as a positive. Some people will not resonate with you and your Chutzpah but many will. Remember that some will, some won’t, some waiting, so what, next. It is important to build relationships and create awareness about who you are and what you do so that you can grow your business. Having a bit of Chutzpah like talking to those within 3 feet of you and always having your business cards with you will pay off.
Being bold and having Chutzpah pays off. I do PA Announcing for The Lauderhill Broncos of The Pop Warner Football League and I had the audacity(Chutzpah) to introduce SHOUT OUTS FOR THE CURE to support my effort to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. It worked as I raised $205 in one day and was written about in Th Sun-Sentinel , a local newspaper in my community. In taking action I was able to move closer to my goal of raising $2,500 for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton. In having an article done about my efforts I am able to have some back up when I use my Chutzpah to ask for donations.
In leaving our digital footprint it is important to have some Chutzpah so as to stand out and reach people with a message that will be resonating, relevant, and entertaining. Coming out and asking for a donation or asking for business takes some Chutzpah but it has proven to be effective. Look at what you are putting out there and how it is being received. There is an old adage that controversy creates cash. I have found this to be true. Recently Go Daddy pulled an ad that was scheduled to air during The Super Bowl because it was controversial. Someone stated Go Daddy had a lot of Chutzpah for introducing that ad. Yes they did and after they pulled their ad their domain sales increased by 15%.
As you plan your marketing, advertising, media relations, and public relations campaign see where Chutzpah will pay off.
