Advertisement Ideas: Put Out Or Get Out!!!
In the ever evolving market place where social media seems to be taking over it is still important to get out from behind the computer and put yourself out into the market. I have written many times about the 3 feet rule and the importance of getting out into the community. You can have all the social media sites in the world but if people don’t know about them they do not serve you well so it is important to get out and let people know who you are, what you do, and how they can connect with you. One key when putting yourself out there is to answer the question how you can be of service and value to the people you come in contact with.
Advertisement Ideas: Ways To Put Out Instead of Getting Out!!!
When attending networking events it is imperative to get to know a few people at the event. Do not try to get to know everyone build relationships one event at a time and each time you go to the event greet the people you meet and then set a goal to meet 3 new people so that you build your data base and also strengthen relationships. Think of the one thing you want to offer those you meet and then how you will follow up. The idea is to pick a lane and stick to it. As you build relationships through networking you will find that you are able to convert people into clients as you continue to be of service and value.
Social Media is an excellent tool to use to put yourself out there. The key is to be consistent in your message and share your message frequently and consistently. For example I have a message for people to help me create a world with less cancer and more birthdays so I share my link http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 across social media with stats and stories to create a buzz with a call to action. One key to engaging people on social media is to be of service and value and let them know where to find you. Many today are on Facebook and using fan pages but have very few likes as they simply put up the fan page and think okay I built it now people will come.It doesn’t work like that you must do email invites to like the page to your list, have an invite on your business cards and all promotional materials. If you have a brick or mortar business or office post professional signs that say LIKE US ON FACEBOOK and then for all those who like the page send them something that has a perceived value like a certificate for a discount on services or an electronic gift card to Starbucks or another business.
Using the proper promotional items can be a great way to put yourself out there. Zip drives with your logo phone number, website, and fan page is a great tool to have to give out to people who you come in contact with. When using promotional items you also want to have something that is useful and memorable. For example you are an author have bookmarks to give out, you are a computer repair person have mouse pads or zip drives to hand out. You can also go generic with water bottles, tee-shirts, ball caps. The main thing is to be creative and use the promotional item to create a buzz about your business.
To truly put yourself out there it is important to follow up in a timely basis. If I am out collecting donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and people show an interest I obtain a business card and I follow up with in 24-48 hours. In following up make sure you are sharing the value and benefits of whatever it is you are selling.
