Advertisement Ideas: Stop Making Excuses!!!

no excuses This  entry was prompted by an interaction I had with someone as I offered to put promotional materials into 25 Swag Bags that I will be giving out during my presentation at The How To Sell Your Genius Tap Into You Seminar on Friday, August 29, at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale. The woman has an herbal and essential oil business who the last time I spoke to her told me how slow business was. Those of you who read this blog on a regular basis know that I believe there is no reason for a business to be slow and thus when people tell me how slow their business is I always look for ways to change that perception.  I offered to put her cards and a small sample bottle into The Swag Bags she wrote me back that she was involved in many expos where she had to give gifts and would be passing on my offer. I thought okay her loss because of the 25 people who will receive The Swag Bags  2-3 may have wanted to purchase her oils and herbal supplements if they knew about her.

have no excuse » ! no-excusesThe key to being successful in business especially in customer/client procurement  is to advertise and market to the right audiences with a consistent message. The Swag Bags that I will be given out are being provided by PNC Bank, located in Sunrise, FL on Oakland Park Boulevard and University Drive. When I met the brand manager at the Back To School Round Up and asked for 25 bags she didn’t hesitate or make excuses she said sure when would you like to pick them up. As a result not only has PNC Bank received publicity in this blog, shout outs across social media, but they will also benefit by having a brand presence at The How To Sell Your Genius Tap Into You Seminar. On the flip side I called TD Bank and left a message for them to call me back about giving me bags and they still haven’t called back. I wonder what the excuse will be? The bad thing about TD Bank not responding is that I bank there and have promoted them since I began to bank there. The point is if you are going to succeed you need to stop making excuses and seek opportunities to put yourself out there in front of the right audience.

I speak to many businesses on a regular basis as I have several platforms that can help them in their efforts to gain brand awareness, to be on the top of the consumers mind, and create a buzz about their products or services. The excuses I hear range from I am not interested or  I don’t need that type of marketing.  Their lack of interest could be costing them money as I have a very diverse following because of my TV Show, The Anything Bucket, which airs at 6:30 PM EDT on Tuesday on www.wrpbitv.com, my radio show, Get Motivated With Jonathan JDOGG Lederman, which air on Monday at 7:00 PM at www.blogtalkradio.com/hrafnstongradio, my affiliation as a PA Announcer with The Miami Fury of The Women’s Football Allinace, www.miamifuryfootball.com, and The South Florida Gold of The American Basketball Association, www.sflgold.com, and my emceeing many local events. I am also The Fund The Cure Leader for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton and the emcee for the event. I also do inspirational speaking where I reach audiences of all ages and all backgrounds.  So when someone says they are not interested they miss out on an opportunity to reach people who may not know about them who can benefit from their product and services. Ask yourself how your lack of interest may be hurting your business.

No Excuses!When I hear the excuse I don’t need that type of marketing I feel like just grabbing the person and shaking them and saying of course you do you need as much marketing as you can get because customers today respond to seeing your name out there. Procuring new customers and retaining existing customers is key. The only way to do this is through marketing. I see so many business people struggling because of this excuse of I don’t need that type of marketing and then making more excuses. These excuse makers need to wake up and take action by understanding that if you are not marketing or advertising daily you are dying.
