Advertising Ideas: Kicking Butt And Taking Names!!!!

One of the key ingredients in being effective with your advertising campaign is tracking the campaign . How you track results is very important when you are planning and implementing advertisement ideas.  The idea is to have a kick butt campaign that will allow you to track customers and  thus engage them on a regular basis.   The appeal must be entertaining, relevant, and resonating so that it achieves the objectives that you have set in place. Your advertising program should include a great headline, a great offer, and a tracking system.

 Do you recognize this? It is a QR Code where a client scans it on their phone and it takes them to your website. Once they visit your website you want to have a way to capture their information. One way to do this is to make your site a FREE Membership Site, where the visitor has to give you name, age, and email. This will give them a used code and allow you to then track their visits and thus create a program to target them to buy your product or services.

Notice these? These are social media sites that have become prevalent over the years. It is very important to have a way to utilize them effectively to engage your desired target audience and collect data to keep in contact with your customers/clients. Whatever business you have the bottom line is that if people do not know about you they will not do business with you. We hear it all the time people do business with people they know, they like, and they trust.  With an effective social media campaign you can engage your target audience and create a buzz about your business which will translate into increased revenue.

 One of the most effective advertising/marketing campaigns that I have witnessed was my recent interaction with RED BULL.  Their promotional girls were at an event and giving out FREE Cans of Red Bull. In order to get the can of Red Bull you had to fill out a form that asked you name, age, zip code, and email.  This qualified you to get the can of Red Bull and receive special offers. By doing this Red Bull gained exposure in the market pace and was able to add to its data base and segment the market by zip code thus creating a way to further engage the consumer.

 I frequent these establishments frequently. In my travels I have noticed that they all have something in common, a customer rewards program. This is a great way to increase customer retention as the consumer like to feel they are getting special service and appreciated.  Does your business have a way to reward your clients/customers.

 The secret to kicking butt and taking names is to stand out, deliver what you promised, and create customer loyalty. I worked with a gentleman, Jerry Saperstein, with Major League Volleyball who taught me give  people a reason to come back.  I took this to heart and have used the philosophy of get people to the business, give them a good experience, and develop programs to retain their business.

 When I worked as a sales director at a local bowling center I would host many corporate parties.  I did this to fill space and create revenue.  I would go out to local businesses and speak to the human resources director and set up a party at an affordable rate for their employees. The night of the party I would circulate and obtain names and email addresses and ask questions like if they had young children? would they be interested in doing a company outing once a month? would they like to join a league? the reason to ask the questions was so that I could formulate a marketing program that would appeal to the and get them to come back to the  bowling center. In doing this I was able to book a few birthday parties, several monthly bowling nights, and develop a few leagues.

 When I wasn’t in the center bowling I was out on the road promoting the bowling center. I did it all from one on meetings to group presentations to attending trade shows. My goal was to put people in the bowling center, create a great experience, and have them coming back. I was highly successful as I was creative and  asked many questions so as to develop the proper marketing strategies and thus kick butt and take names.

 If you are not marketing and collecting names you are missing out on opportunities to build your brand and increase your revenue.  With the proper promotion you can build  your brand awareness and thus increase your revenue.
