Advertisement Ideas: Time To Wake Up People!!!

 I am amazed by how many people I will call on in a day to offer them the opportunity to market themselves in ways that are beneficial to their business. I have heard it all I don’t have a budget, I am no interested,  I have done something similar and it didn’t work? I feel like reaching through the phone strangling the son of a gun and saying WAKE UP, I am one of the best at what I do and if you can’t spend $140 on a 1/4 page ad in a magazine geared toward a very desirable target audience you might as well shut the doors.  Let’s do the math I offer 3 months of exposure for $140 to 5000 Mothers of Middle and High School Students in Northwest Broward County. One would think a business would recoup their $140 investment. I recently had a dental office turn me down not understanding what I was offering. I explained that if they were to get one mother and her children to come in for a cleaning that the ad pays for itself. I also offered extra bonuses like shout outs across my social media platforms and on my Internet Radio Show, Get Motivated With Jonathan JDOGG Lederman, which is heard on Monday from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM EDT.  I also offered to promote the practice when I host special events as I am an emcee. With my connections I certainly could have helped bring in some business. As I left I thought wow another so-called professional who is being penny wise and pound foolish.  I felt like telling the marketing guy hey you just let a great opportunity pass you by because of your lack of vision. I did not but I did get some satisfaction when I saw him in public and asked how the practice is going and he said oh we are a little slow. I said well when your ready to speed it up call me you have my number.  It is with this in mind that I tell the entrepreneurs and marketing executives that are reading this blog that it is TIME TO WAKE UP!!!!!

 In many cases when you do not wake up to opportunities your business struggles and before you know it you are closing your doors. It has nothing to do with the economy it has everything to do with you and how you promoted your business. Are you changing with the times and getting to know the people who are presenting you with opportunities or are you one of those I know everything business owners that will struggle and eventually go out of business. I have seen this happen to many times. In 2011 I approached a local pizza business about donating 10 large pizzas to our local Relay For Life Event. His answer is your asking for $150 in product I’m not interested. I replied sir in reality I am asking for about $50 worth of product, which is your cost to make the pizza. He asked how do you know and I said because I have been dealing with pizza restaurants for a long time and many of the owners have shared with me the cost of making a pizza. He continued to get argumentative and I left wishing him a nice afternoon. About 1 month ago I was in the plaza where he was located I say was because his place is out of business. He is someone who should have woken up.  I shared this with my dad and he said you know Jonathan some people just don’t get it let’s say one person from Relay tried the pizza and liked it and became a regular customer the man makes his money back.

Now is the time to implement a marketing strategy that works for you.

1: Know who you are and who your ideal client/customer is!

2: Research and implement ways to effective reach your ideal client/customer!

3: Have measurable goals with your marketing strategy.  For example you attended a trade show secured 40 leads and turned 5 into sales and your goal was to make 3 sales, you exceeded your goal.

4: Be creative and willing to invest in your marketing  – There will be many opportunities to build your image you must look at the ones that make sense. For example you can do a 12 minute segment on an Internet TV Show for $100 reaching 48,000 viewers with 77% in you service area fitting your target demographic, you should take advantage of that. The key is to find the opportunities that make sense. I saw someone do a mailer for their daycare center that supposedly reached 50,000 homes, they didn’t  realize that 30,000 of the homes were condos in a 55+ community. The owner said through his Director well we get results to which I said you would get better results with a more direct approach to your target audience.

 

PEOPLE IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP AND LOOK AT HOW YOU ARE MARKETING???  Remember in many cases you may be speaking to someone who can be an asset to you company.
