ADVERTISEMENT IDEAS: MAKING CONNECTIONS

JDOGG CONNECTS WITH BEARMY FROM BUILD A BEAR

It was sunday afternoon and I was Emceeing The  Kids Konvention ay The  Coral Square Mall in Coral Springs, FL when I had a chance to make a connection with Build A Bear. I recently sent this picture to them with an idea to use it with a caption Build A Bear Where You Can Be a Kid at Heart. This then reminded me of what I have been speaking about for years and that is making and maintaining connections. I have often stated you never know when a great connection will be made so be prepared. If you have your phone with youa t all times and you have a camera and a camcorder on the phone you can begin to facilitate relationships.

JDOGG LEDERMAN CELEBRATES THE BEGINING OF FOOTBALL SEASON

Like in fottball when a quarterback has a good relationship with the other 10 players on the team and leads the team to score you will score in branding and revenue buikding when you build relationships. A friend of mine, Ken Esrig, has a new book Start From Where You Are, where he talks about making new connections. The book is available at www.mistproductions.net. Another friend of mine, Dr. Shellie Hipskey has a book, Ordinary Planet, Extraordinary Planet that has many inspirational stories. These two products would make for good gifts to bring to a one on one meeting so as to enhance the relationship. People may not remember what you said or did but they will remember how you made them feel so make them feel good by coming from an attitude of gratitude.

One aspect of building the relationship is to take action. As I illustrate on several occassions Passion + Action = Success. Don’t be afraid to approach people or interactas you never know who will be that connection that takes your business to the next level. The guy in the jeans and a tee shirt may have s everal contacts in the media but because you looked past that person you lost out on an opportunity to make your media relations easier. The guy in the shorts and the polo shirt with the ball cap may be connected to a major buyer who can use your products or services.

You don’t have to be at an organized event to network and make connections, you can simply carry your business cards with you and listen to those around you and if the  opportunity comes introduce yourself.

This week make your connections and nbe of service and value to those who can benefit from interacting with you.
