Advertisement Ideas: Get Loud!!!

As you sit down to plan out your marketing strategy you can take a lesson from Jennifer Lopez and get loud. It is often said that the squeakiest wheel gets the grease well in advertising and marketing it is often the company that makes the most noise that gets the clients/customers. In a day and age where everyone is looking for ways to differentiate themselves from their competition it is important to focus on letting the end-user know the benefits of your product or service so you are heard over the competition. This could mean doing business in a public place like a Panera Bread, which is what I did last night (4/16/2015) as I ran the committee meeting for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton. After the meeting I was making a call about Relay For Life and a patron over heard the call and  came over and made a $5 donation which opened the door for me to share with her what I was doing with Relay for Life and to give her my business card. By being a bit loud I drew attention to myself and made a new contact. In being outgoing and a bit loud you just may meet the contact who can help you to exceed your goals. Getting loud can mean putting out a bigger print advertisement in targeted publications that reach your desired target audience. In many cases sending a media release to these publications about what you are doing in the community and any new developments in the business will garner you a FREE article which if put on your website and included in your social media will give you credibility and edification in the market place.

One of the best lessons I learned about promotions was from KISS who encouraged us to shout it out loud!!! In a marketplace that is full of noise you must shout your message at times just to get noticed. The end-user for your product or service is being bombarded by advertising campaigns and have become numb to most forms of advertising. As a result to gain a competitive edge in the market place you must get loud. You must also be places where your competition is not.

Going to a Food Truck Round Up dressed in a company shirt with  information about your products or services can garner interest in your services. If you have a product or service that has a mass appeal like Tax Services you may want to go with many pens and brochures and business cards and just ask people if they have an accountant if they say no hand the your information and strike up a conversation and capture their information. I recently went to a Food Truck Event to collect donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and had my business cards with me and I went to each Food Truck and spoke to them about being a guest on my TV Show. As I solicited donations I was able to find out about people and those who had a business or did marketing for a business I gave my business card and invited them to be on my TV Show and took their card to follow-up.
As mentioned above I host a TV Show, The Anything Bucket, which airs on www.wrpbitv.com on Tuesday at 6:30 PM EDT. This is an excellent platform to use to get loud as I reach over 50,000 viewers each week and give my guests 10-12 minutes to deliver their message. The guests also have the option of purchasing the clip for $175 that they can then use on their website, in their social media, in emails, and across all other marketing platforms that they may have. In purchasing the clip  and using it in your marketing you will be getting loud and standing out from others in your industry. After your TV Appearance you will have leverage to share when you are out on the street.

More and more smaller companies are taking the lead from larger companies to get loud by forming a street team. These street teams become an ambassador of your brand and represent you at events and out in the community. The street team should be enthusiastic and professional and promote your product or service  while also gathering information to use in follow-up and future campaigns. You can advertise where your street team will be on your social media.

Using social media effectively is a great way to get loud. You should use social media not so much as a selling platform but as a brand awareness platform giving the end-user reasons to do business with you as opposed to someone else in your industry. A good social media reputation will help you to get loud and thus build a larger customer/client base thus increasing cash flow and helping you to get loud. Sometimes you may have to simply get out and wear your message and then post it on social media.

IMG_4133 These are sneakers that are available at www.justginnie.com where a portion of each sale is being donated to The American Cancer Society. I created the concept and by wearing them out I have a conversation starter that in turn helps me to secure new business. The idea is to to get loud and make a statement so that people will be attracted to you and want to do business with you. I have many personal experiences where being loud has paid off that I will continue to share here. Please leave comments with your stories of getting loud.

As you promote your business or charitable endeavors remember to make some noise and get loud. Stand out by being the one your desired target audience hears.
