Advertisement Ideas: All You Have To Do Is Ask!!!

Just ask! I have been teaching and preaching the concept of all you have to do is ask for many years.  I have so many positive stories of where I just made the ask that resulted in obtaining donations for my charitable endeavors like The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton. getting paying gigs, and booking guests for my TV Show, The Anything Bucket, which airs on www.wrpbitv.com on Tuesday at 6:30 PM EST.  The key is that I made the ask with the mindset of what is the worst that will happen; they will say no?  When you advertise you are making an ask for people to do business with you. When making this ask you must have a message that resonates with the target audience you are attempting to attract so that they will take action and do business with you. When you are making your advertising choices as to where you will make the ask look at who the advertising platform reaches so that the reach includes your desired target audience. When advertising and making the ask make sure people know who you are and what you do. In all your marketing make sure you have a call to action. In making the ask be aware that you want to create a buzz by being creative, relevant, resonating, and entertaining. Once you procure a customer/client make sure you are asking them questions that will allow you to continue to be of service and value to them so that you can create customer loyalty. make it a priority to train those who work for you to make the ask in a tactful and pleasant way that when a customer is asked about their experience with you they say positive things.

When I was a Jaycees member we had a saying Get The Check, meaning to get the member signed up. Many times I would go out and share Jaycees with people with chapter members and I noticed the chapter members were not signing people up to be Jaycees because they were not asking for the check. 1: Introduce Yourself

2: Ask questions to find out about the person you are speaking with

For example I invite people to come to WRPBiTV to tape segments for my TV Show and I get them to make a n appointment to come in and then I offer them the opportunity to purchase the clip of their appearance on my show for $175. I tell them the benefits of having a clip and then ask them if they want to purchase the clip and 50% of the people say yes.

 On 3/5/2015 I went to Panera bread as I was going to meet up with the committee for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton there. I placed my order and was asked would you like to add a pastry for $1 I said yes and then I observed the cashier asking everyone this and witnessed about 70% of the patrons saying yes. I thought for a moment how many people did not intend to buy a pastry but when asked said yes and how did this positively increase cash flow while also creating something for  patrons to talk about to others. In asking you plant a seed and increase your chances for a more positive cash flow.

 Social media can be a great place to make the ask. On 3/4/2015 I took to Facebook to ask my friends that were on Facebook to visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 and make a donation.I did this using the messaging feature and sent the message to those who showed up on the right side of my page. I had 1 response with a donation of $25 bring my total to $2094.61 so far. Social media can be a great tool to promote your business and your charitable endeavors as long as your ask resonates with your audience. Think about it if each week I generate $25 for the charity at the end of the year I will have generated $ 1300. There is power in making the ask through social media.

I have found that by going business to business or even going as far as making an announcement about who you are and what you are doing can lead to success. I recently walked into a nail salon promoting Relay For Life and the manager said go ahead you can ask. So I used my booming announcer voice and told everyone who I was and what I was doing and one of the customers called me over and donated $10.  I have  attended events and asked the DJ if I could make an announcement and they have often said yes and as a result I have had success in collecting donations. On one occasion I was at a 4th of July event and collected $248 after making an announcement.  The key is to remember to make the ask at every opportunity that  is presented to you.   In many cases we worry about rejection or what others will say so we do not ask. In not asking you may be leaving money on the table.

On of the best things you can do to make the ask is to get out to networking events and then follow-up with people. When you work the room make sure you make it more about the person you are speaking with than yourself.
